Abstract
The Young CAS Project Writing in Latin and in the Vernacular (WLV): Bilingual Scribal Practice in Norway ca. 1300–1350 will explore the scribal and social circumstances in Norway surrounding the conception, production, and use of Latin and Old Norwegian manuscripts. In the spirit of bilingualism, this project intends to create a common hermeneutic and theoretical understanding and to study the manuscripts and fragments from a holistic perspective, with expertise from the fields of medieval Latin and Old Norse philology. As such, this project intends to fill a gap in current research on medieval Norwegian manuscript culture and acts as the start of a successful collaboration.
